Gender Equality & Inclusion Policy

World Federation of International Speedsoft Sport (WFISS)

1. Purpose

The World Federation of International Speedsoft Sport (WFISS) is committed to fostering a competitive environment where all participants, regardless of gender, identity, or background, can engage fairly, safely, and with dignity. This policy defines our stance and action plan to ensure gender equality and meaningful inclusion at all levels of the sport.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all members, affiliates, athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, organizers, and associated stakeholders involved with WFISS activities, events, or governance structures globally.

3. Guiding Principles
  • Equal Opportunity: WFISS provides equal access to resources, competitions, training, and leadership positions for all genders.
  • Merit-Based Participation: Selection and promotion are based strictly on skill, commitment, and performance, not on gender or personal identity.
  • Zero Tolerance for Discrimination: Any form of harassment, bias, or exclusion based on gender or related factors will not be tolerated.
  • Respect for All: Dignity, respect, and professionalism are expected at all times across all levels of the sport.
  • Clarity & Consistency: Rules and procedures related to gender inclusion must be clear, consistent, and in line with international best practices while respecting cultural diversity and the sporting integrity of Speedsoft.

4. Policy Commitments

4.1 Participation & Representation
  • Ensure gender-balanced representation in leadership roles, committees, and official functions where feasible.
  • Remove structural barriers that prevent participation by underrepresented genders, especially at grassroots and junior levels.
  • Promote programs and pathways for women and non-binary individuals to compete, coach, officiate, and lead.
4.2 Competition Categories
  • Maintain fair, safe, and inclusive competition formats.
  • Review gender category eligibility in alignment with scientific, ethical, and legal standards recognised by international sport bodies.
  • Allow for mixed-gender events and formats to promote equality where appropriate.
4.3 Recruitment & Development
  • Encourage gender diversity in coaching, officiating, and administrative pipelines.
  • Support mentoring and development programs specifically targeting gender equity in leadership roles.
  • Require all WFISS-sanctioned events and member organisations to uphold and apply this policy.
4.4 Anti-Harassment and Complaint Handling

  • Establish confidential and accessible reporting systems for discrimination or harassment based on gender.
  • Swiftly investigate any reported misconduct, with appropriate sanctions or disciplinary action.
  • Train all officials and staff on gender sensitivity, conflict resolution, and ethical behavior.
5. Monitoring & Accountability
  • Annual reporting on gender diversity across all levels of WFISS.
  • Policy reviews every three years or in response to significant legal or social developments.
  • Compliance with this policy is mandatory; non-compliance by member organisations may result in suspension or other disciplinary measures.

6. Definitions
  • Gender: A social construct related to the roles, behaviors, and identities typically associated with men, women, and non-binary individuals.
  • Inclusion: Creating environments where all people feel welcome, valued, and able to participate fully.
  • Discrimination: Any unjust or prejudicial treatment based on gender or gender identity.

7. Final Word

Speedsoft is a fast-paced sport built on strategy, skill, and respect. Our arenas should reflect the same principles we demand on the field: fairness, precision, and integrity. Gender should never be a barrier to competing, leading, or belonging.
